In his absentmindedness, Jon doesn’t notice the form emerging from around the corner until it barrels into him, drawing a soft grunt from him and a ghastly gasp from his victim. When they jump backward into the light, the identity of his interceptor is revealed.
“Sansa?” He rasps.
“Seven hells, Jon, you scared me!”

Amid struggles to sleep, Jon has taken to midnight strolls through the halls of Winterfell. When she runs into him one night, Sansa immediately sees that Jon is troubled, and wants to help.

“Well,” she says. “The short of it is, practically every guy I’ve hooked up with thinks it’s his God-given right to be the one in charge when I have sex with him. But you” — she steps forward, almost between his legs now, looking down her nose at him — “when I said I wanted to be in control, you didn’t even try to argue with me on that, and I found that… interesting.”
Otis thinks to lift his arms from their slack position between his legs, as the backs of his hands are very nearly grazing her shins, and chances are she’ll cut his hands off if he touches her without her permission.
“You want to be in control again.”

Sansa Stark returns to a fractured North for the first time since traveling south as a young child to be fostered by her Aunt Lysa in King's Landing. Stannis Baratheon's troops have broken against the walls of Winterfell, starved and weakened by the relentless northern storms - their King's fate unknown. Roose Bolton lies dead within Winterfell's walls as his bastard, Ramsey Snow dances a bloody minuet with Jon Snow, the half-brother whom she has never met, and his rag-tag band of wildlings in the northern woods.Petyr promises that it's time for a true Stark to return and bring these mongrels to heel, with the might of the Vale behind her. Yet, the girl does not feel like a true Stark, nor does she know how to break free from Littlefinger's claws. A chance encounter sets her on course to Jon Snow's war camp, where disguised as Alayne, she helps the resurrected King-in-the-North unite the North and become Sansa Stark once again.
More book than show, with the twist that Sansa was fostered in King's Landing, and Jon spent is earliest years with the crannogmen meaning they do not know each other before the events depicted here. Focused on Sansa. Sansa is Alayne for most of the story.
