Max leaned with one foot against the wall and headphones on her ears as she smoked a cigarette, resting her head back and exhaling a cloud of smoke into the air.
Seeing movement out of the corner of her eye, she whipped her head towards him, eyebrows knitting together in confusion when she realized who had interrupted her smoke break. She lowered her headphones, letting them rest around her neck as he approached her cautiously.

It starts as an accident. His metabolism is so fast, the regular amount doesn’t accomplish anything, so he starts taking five, six, ten times the recommended dose to feel anything, and once its effects plateaus, once he realizes that he would rather swim through sedation than deal with Spider-Man problems, he starts downing entire bottles like shots of whiskey.
It's not a problem.

“Damn, bitch, you live like this?” She said, pushing up her shades to survey the space. “No kind of carpet on your concrete floor. Giant crack in the wall. Where do you even sleep?”
Robert looked away. “It’s… complicated,” he muttered, eyeing the only piece of furniture in the room.
