As the gloves fitted themselves onto his hands, he moved his fingers around, flexing them slightly as he got used to the stiffness of the leather. As you watched his fingers move around, smoothly gliding through the air, you gulped, tearing your eyes away from his hands, the slightest spark of heat running through your spine, settling in your core as images of his hands continued to replay in your mind, movements fluid and tantalizing.
You watched as Marius began to flip through the files on the bookshelf, fingers working deftly against the papers, flipping them one by one, movements precise and calculated. You could help but stare at the gentle way his fingers gripped the papers, exuding the practiced ease of a professional. He didn’t seem to notice the way your eyes followed his fingers, locked onto them as your mind began wandering, imagining what else those fingers could do.

The orders of the king are absolute, but you can't help but feel that there should be a line drawn. No singular man should have the power to control the lives of hundreds, you think. No individual person should be able to inflict death out of sheer immaturity. No sadistic artist should have the right to use literal human beings as canvases, and you believe that your captor is no exception.
King Marius doesn't feel the same way, though. With his crown giving him complete authority, he cares not for the girls that die every week from his twisted artistry.
It's only when you're sent to become his new canvas that he begins to consider art from a new light: a better light. But with him constantly ready with a knife in his palm and you having no defense but a meager art education, it may already be too late for any true change to be enacted within these palace halls.
