Summary
Wordlessly, Dennis opens his arms to her. She falls forward, leaving her forehead to rest against his shoulder. They don’t hug. They never really do. But for them, this is enough: Trinity’s breathing evening out as the silence stretches out between them, Dennis looping one arm around her shoulders and patting her head gently. It’s a comfortable dance they do around their pasts, of memories they’d prefer to only allude to. Dennis thinks of it less of avoidance, but more of leaving things in the past in favour of making brighter futures, of living days that aren’t entwined with the existences of their ghosts. Maybe one of his brothers would call him unrealistic. Maybe they’d say that all roads eventually lead back to Broken Bow. Dennis has dreams of being a dreamer, though.
Dennis comes back from a night shift to find Trinity crying in her room. He's still not entirely sure on how to approach the whole comforting people when they're crying thing, but he'd like to think that he's doing the best he can.

Summary
Samira liked birds.
But Samira also liked that Trinity Santos was very much a human being, because she had a concerning habit of smashing right into the floor-to-ceiling windows of Samira’s office on sunny days that would leave her dead if she had been a bird instead.
Samira also had a sneaking suspicion that she was taking a liking towards a vigilante; which was, all things considered, not the most ideal situation for someone like her.
That is to say that when Trinity Santos slammed into the windows of Samira’s office for the seventh time in two weeks, she couldn't help but shake her head with a concerned, yet fond smile.
Samira Mohan is contractually bound to neutralizing and turning in any and all vigilantes she comes into contact with. Instead, she finds herself healing and very much not turning in Trinity Santos, the one vigilante who crash lands into her life.

Summary
It takes a few excruciatingly long moments for Trinity to register the person who has scooped up the preschooler in his arms as Frank Langdon. As in: the senior resident that publicly humiliated her on her first day. The very same Frank Langdon that she reported for stealing drugs from patients. The beloved asshole of the Pitt whose life she ruined.
What the fuck.
When Trinity takes a part-time gymnastics coaching position, she certainly doesn’t expect one of her star students to share a last name with the senior resident she somehow managed to (sort of) fire a few months ago

Summary
Trinity tries not to think about her ghosts as she shows Dennis around, vaguely gesturing to his new room and the embarrassingly bare kitchen and living room. And she definitely tries not to think about how, in another faraway universe, her ghosts wouldn’t be ghosts but just a girl who got her chance to grow up instead.
