Summary
Niall’s birth upends Mòrag’s life. The Emperor tries to upend it further. Just as a flame cannot be commanded, Mòrag refuses to be controlled. She rebels...and it costs her everything she loves.
But an ember glows brightest when the night is darkest. And embers bring flames.
(or: a series of drabbles—basically a chapter fic I’ll never bother to write and I’m letting it masquerade as a massive one-shot—about Mòrag’s life before she became the Special Inquisitor)

Five years in jail has left him without any connections in the wider world. When he reemerges at 23, he finds a mystical world he doesn’t recognize where things aren’t as they seem.
TL;DR: What if Ren actually did time in prison thanks to Shido?
