The person his brother and Madara have become has longer hair than Mito and Madara combined, falling in smooth ebony sheets and trailing to the ground; he beams like Hashirama but toothy like Madara, a second pair of arms branches out of his back like wings, and when he turns with all four hands on his hips to stare at Tobirama and Izuna in turn his three eyes are narrow and -- very strange.
Not that Tobirama has any time to look at them.
"Auspicious, my lord, very auspicious," one of the Senju elders says, looking half-displeased and half-resigned. "May we have your name, to record this momentous occasion properly?"
"I," the fusion says self-importantly, "am Buchikotoji."
He chose the kanji of Hashirama's name that didn't have any trace of Senju tradition, of course. Unsurprising.
"Do you think they had secret meetings to name him in the last week, or?" Izuna mutters from the corner of his mouth to one of his clansmen, pretending to smile. "He came up with it so fast."
Tobirama isn't meant to overhear and he knows it, but he can't help but snort and mutter back, "If you think this is the first time they fuse, I have a bridge to sell you."

If Anakin were to recount his life by age, it would go exactly as follows: he was born, then he was nine for a minute, then he turned twenty. There was no in between. Not without making his head go all tingly and his senses turn fuzzy.
Digging around in memories only ever prompted fade-to-blacks, and, if it was a particularly sensitive memory—a cut-to-black. Both saw Anakin thrown into the amnesia-inducing depths of void before he could even blink twice.
All the more reason to never think about that cursed planet ever again. He already lost enough time as it was.

A simple question. As all needed to be when Anakin was like this, or else he wouldn’t answer.
Anakin wanted to answer—if only he could move his lips. If only they felt like his.
Maybe he’d drifted into the wrong body again. Maybe if he left and came back it would be right this time.
Wishful thinking, really. It was never that simple.

Obi-Wan’s face is registering as little more than swirls of porcelain and copper to Anakin at the moment - the occasional flash of gold - but that last part hardly matters.
He still recognizes the hand holding his; the saber-calloused fingers interwoven so lovingly with his own. It’s enough. Anakin doesn’t need to recognize his eye color during this.
