Summary
Damn the tie. Damn the demon principality and its penchant for professionalism. And damn Zoey for tying everything so goddamn tight.
Mira was going to choke to death before Rumi even got the chance to kill her.
(After a lifetime of training to kill Gwi-Ma, Mira's plans are ruined when a new ruler takes charge and offers the hunters a chance for peace.)

Ryu Rumi is good at what she knows: managing her aunt's shop, avoiding animal by-products, and keeping her mouth shut around pretty girls.
She's never stopped to consider what might happen when all three of these things collide.
(Five times Rumi tries to act normal around her coworkers, and the one time she doesn't have to.)

Summary
So mostly it seems like Rumi’s doing well. She wears her patterns openly, almost defiantly. She stops locking herself away in her room. When she wakes in the middle of the night, breathless and panicked from haunting dreams, she lets Zoey find her and guide her to Mira’s room so they can all crawl into bed together, Rumi sandwiched in the middle.
But there are some moments when she loses herself a little, when Zoey can see her teeth clench and her eyes glaze over. Moments when her breath shakes, and she presses her nails so deep into her palms that they come away bloody.
She won't talk to them when it happens.
(After the Honmoon is sealed, Rumi seeks out Celine one last time.)

Summary
Mira has worked at Sunlight Scoops for upwards of two months now, and if someone put a gun to her head and told her to name three things about Rumi, she could maybe give them two:
1. Rumi worked at Sunlight Scoops
2. Rumi was absolute shit at small talk(Zoey and Mira get jobs at an ice cream parlor and cannot figure out why their manager can't talk to them.)

Summary
The fangs take a little getting used to. The next few days are filled with lots of “Can we go to–” and “Did you guys see th–” before Rumi will bite herself, curse, and retreat to the bathroom to clean up, sometimes with Zoey in tow. Mira thinks Zoey’s got a bit of an obsession with the newly sharp edges of Rumi’s teeth, though she can’t say Rumi’s mouth has never intrigued her, either.
Or: Little by little, Zoey and Mira watch Rumi change (and little by little she stays the same).

Summary
Trini’s small.
She knows it. She owns it. She uses it to her advantage.
Still, sometimes it sucks. More often than not, her size leads to injury, and whenever she’s hurt she has to look Kimberly in the eyes and see that stupid, disappointed stare that she’s grown uncomfortably familiar with.
And of course, Kimberly’s the only one in the group with any scrap of medical training, so Trini will have to sit still and glare at the ground as she’s evaluated. It’s painful and frustrating, but more than anything it’s embarrassing. Humiliating.
(Trini and Kim, and the series of events that brings them together.)
