    The only one I've read where Hannibal never drugs or harms Will (although it's on the table of course). He just loves him, almost immediately. There's a good but of D/s done very lovingly.

    This one spoke to me in poetry.

    Growing up in a big town, Will has found that he's perfectly content to create his own adventures and to do so all alone, until a boy who doesn't speak wanders into Will's spot in the woods and then just keeps showing up. He has something far too old for his mind in his eyes, and he carries around a notebook for all his sketches. A young Will Graham is intrigued.

    Or: If Will collects strays, Hannibal is his first. Featuring many gratuitous time-skips.

    This is one of my favorite AU stories, it's the one where Hannibal kisses will when they are teenagers and will pushes him away because he's terrified of being queer, terrified of his dad, and the story is his slow acceptance of himself, with so many steps back, and a beautiful conclusion. It really touched a part of me I haven't thought about in a long time.

    There's two versions of Will in this (one who's been with Hannibal through Digestivo and the one Hannibal accidentally time travels to who is pre-show starting) and the way the author handles them is incredible.

    I love this one. It is high in angst and satisfaction.
