Summary
For six years, Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian have been trying for an heir. Now that omega Wei Wuxian is close to giving birth, they must be extra cautious to make sure nothing goes wrong. However, everything goes wrong, and nothing goes right. Wei Wuxian runs away. Of course, Lan Wangji does everything possible to try to find his omega again. All while believing his heir is deceased. But Wei Wuxian is hiding a big secret that he doesn't see coming.
Around them, the other disciples branched off to look for Wei Wuxian in case he hadn’t gone through the portal. But they came back empty. Wei Wuxian was gone, the only things left of him the muddy footprints and smears of blood.
Behind him, Lan Xichen heard a thud. He spun around to find his brother convulsing on the ground. Spiritual energy cracked open around them. Chaotic. Untamed. Broken.
Lan Wangji was going into qi deviation.

Lan Wangji broke his skin with his nails. Relishing the low hiss the bunny voiced. Then, he pulled away and sniffed his blood covered fingertips. The smell was divine, a more potent version of the omega’s natural scent. He’d be able to track it easily now, so long as the wound he left didn’t heal.
The bunny took a step away and licked his lips, “If it’s bunnies you’re after, we have a few hanging around. I’m afraid I’m off the table.”
Lan Wangji glared hard. He hadn’t misunderstood, had he? The omega let him mark his arm. He hadn’t even mentioned it after he pulled away. What was he playing at?
The bunny glanced to the side. Lan Wangji followed his lead and saw Wen Xu drinking his fill across the floor.
“You see, I’m Wen Xu’s bitch, so you’ll have to choose someone else to accompany you tonight. I hope you have a very pleasurable stay!”

Summary
In typical Xie Lian manner, the poor omega turned and tripped right over a rolling cart stocked with supplies, sending it ricocheting off the hallway walls and into the lobby, leaving dents as it went. Xie Lian, on the other hand, lost his footing immediately and began tumbling towards the ground. As the dark tile floor grew closer to his face, he shut his eyes tightly, trying to cringe away from impending doom. Then, a secure hold fastened around his waist, keeping him aloft above the hard floor with his feet barely supporting him like a fawn finding its legs.
“Careful,” A deep voice called from above as he was righted back onto stable ground. Xie Lian turned just as the beaded curtain fell back over the very last studio space’s entrance. His heart gave a few rapid beats (which he blamed on adrenaline from the fall) as realization dawned that this was Hua Cheng’s studio. And the alpha who’d just saved him from a nasty spill certainly was not He Xuan.
