Charles Leclerc lost his father at 14 years old. After the incident his family had to decide how they're going to move forward. His mother was sure a fresh new start will help their family. The only problem was, this fresh start, forced Charles to give up on his passion and move to England. Scratch that, one more problem: Charles barely spoke English.
After relentless abuse and bullying from his peers throughout his high school career, Charles hoped he would find a safe haven among his volleyball team. Too bad they all think he's a rich asshole who paid his way into the sport, after he replaced their beloved setter, Alex Albon.
Charles found some comfort in his rivalry with Max, a powerful player from one of their biggest competitors. However, Charles came to realize that Max actually hated him, and it wasn't in a playful competitive way.

It is the ‘you people’, that makes Svetlana see red.
“Money?”, it comes out like a curse. She takes a step towards Rose. They are both in heels, but she has a few inches on her. “I don’t need your movie star money. People like me are doing quite alright actually."
