Evangelina 'Eva' Swan had never given much thought to how she would die, she was seventeen with her whole life ahead of her. At least that's what she thought. Until one day she went out onto the Arizona desert to take some pictures and didn't return home that night.
Missing for almost a month, when Eva finally returned home, she wasn't the same girl that she had been: something about her had changed, she had changed.
After days of keeping herself locked in her bedroom with the curtains closed and the door licked, only coming out once the sun had set and everyone else had gone to sleep, Eva finally convinced her mother that a change of scenery was all that she needed to heal from her mysterious ordeal.
So it was Goodbye Phoenix, Arizona and Hello Forks, Washington.

It’s revenge, she decides. For lying in wait with her mom at the hospital yesterday. For backing her into a corner until she had no choice but to agree to this—this invasion of her personal space, her house, her carefully maintained sense of safety. He’ll live if he gets a bit of egg on him.
Almost as if sensing her thoughts, he frowns. It looks out of place on him, carving faint lines into his otherwise perfect face that don’t quite belong there. In fact, it makes him look a little less handsome. Beth would love it if he frowned more. She’d feel a lot less intimidated by him. Or maybe that has more to do with the fact that he’s going to marry her cousin and play a hand in Renaissance's traumatic birth.
