He knew why it was happening. He wasn’t fucking stupid. He possessed and was known for his tactical brilliance in the field; it wasn’t hard to apply that same analysis to his social life and see the glaring structural failures.
He knew he was difficult and abrasive. He knew, intimately so, that he was a logistical nightmare.
Bakugou was the friend you had to handle with oven mitts, a hazard that required constant vigilance. And frankly, they were all probably tired of getting burned. They all probably wanted to hold things with their bare hands now.
They wanted easy. And Bakugou was far from fucking easy. He knew that, and it was fine.
Or, alternatively, the one where the Bakusquad drifts apart post-graduation, Bakugou blames no one but himself, and then Sero shows up.

Summary
Letting go of this feeling was a resolution he had failed to keep for the better part of the year. He had promised himself back in January (and perhaps the January before that) to starve this crush out, to let it wither in the dark for the sake of the group.
But looking at San now, bathed in the amber wash of the city lights with the sharp winter wind tangling his hair, Seonghwa knew it was a failure he would carry right into the next.

“You’re clingy tonight,” Seonghwa murmured, though his tone was fond.
“I sensed a disturbance in the force,” San joked. “My radar went off. It said, my boyfriend’s overthinking, deploy countermeasures immediately.”
Or, alternatively, Seonghwa is drowning in his own head after a minor stage mishap. Luckily, San is a very heavy, very warm anchor who refuses to let him sink.

It’s codependent, it’s domestic, and it’s supposedly platonic. At least, that’s what San tells himself until he realizes that the way his heart beats when Seonghwa touches him isn’t platonic at all.

Summary
As Sozin's comet arrives, Zuko wakes to find a strange tattoo on his arm. Stranger still is the matching one Sokka has, which both keep ticking towards some inevitably event. Unable to explain it, they march on to face Ozai, knowing only one thing -- no matter what, Zuko and Sokka will stay together. No matter what happens, they'll be at one another's side.
Only, it doesn't work. They fail, they fall, and just when things seem at their lowest, they end up living through it again and again, until they can figure out what they're meant to do to make it to tomorrow.

Zuko would never be able to be what Sokka wanted. They might have needed each other during the summer, when two boys with too much weight on their shoulders found comfort in each other in the only way they knew how.
But now Zuko was Fire Lord, and Sokka was leaving.
