Summary
In a move that is sure to spark plenty of debate, League One side Wrexham AFC has made the controversial decision to sign professional NWSL superstar, Caitlyn Kiramman, on a one-year deal.
Kiramman, 23, shows little sign of slowing down, with 10 goals and 7 assists in 10 games so far this season, playing the full 90 minutes in every match up to the end of May.
But many doubters are saying that the leap up to men's football is too great for even someone as talented as her, citing the sex-based disparity between men and women.
"It's a twelve-month contract, that was the maximum length they'd allow, but we rate our chances with her. She is a fresh perspective, she's top of her game, and she's keen to impress, and that can only bode well for squad mentality.
"I have no doubt people will call this a publicity stunt, but we genuinely believe, me and Bob, that if a player under contract is good enough and eligible, they will play for our club."
