Now that the topic of past feelings has been raised, though, a memory buried years deep jostles loose—a stupid, secret thing his past self had sworn to take to his grave. It feels like such a ridiculous non-issue these days, something to laugh at in hindsight. Which is the only reason why he allows his mouth to be quicker than his brain with his next revelation.

Summary
For Evan and Tommy, intimacy is as natural as breathing, and the idea of going long without sex feels almost unthinkable. If it were up to them, they’d stay in bed all the time. But life happens—sometimes their shifts don’t align, they’re exhausted, or they prefer to cuddle and comfort each other after a particularly rough day at work. Those things are to be expected.
What isn’t predictable or acceptable is when Evan ends up hospitalized with a head injury.

Summary
Buck knows he’s good-looking. He realized it pretty early in middle school when girls would giggle behind their hands as he walked past. It used to send almost addictive tingles down his spine whenever women raked their gaze over his body. He doesn’t mean to sound conceited about it. The excitement of it has mostly worn off with age. And it’s not as if he’s the only one who has that kind of effect on people. Counting all the heads Eddie turns is pretty much part of the job. Which makes it all the more startling when he notices that Tommy doesn’t get the same treatment.

Eddie blinks away the brightness of the morning. When his vision comes into focus, so does Tommy, who's lying next to him, the mattress dipping under his weight as he sleeps with his cheek tucked up against the opposite pillow.
The comforter is shoved down, low enough that Eddie is able to trace his eyes over Tommy’s shirtless chest, the long line of his side and down to the curve of his hip, which is—bare, all skin, because, Eddie realizes, Tommy’s not wearing underwear.
Tommy is naked.
Eddie jerks backwards and falls out of bed.
“Evan!” Tommy calls as Eddie lands in a heap on the floor.
Or: Eddie wakes up inside Buck's body. It only gets weirder from there.

Summary
A chorus of awe filled the room swiftly followed by a wave of whispers and mutters. People were shocked; the most anyone has ever bid was five thousand dollars. Never has anyone, ever, reached close to what Tommy just achieved.
And yet, for a brief moment, Evan was seething; blinded with anger. He wanted to win, he wanted the private Harbor tour and flying lessons. He wanted to be in close proximity to Tommy for hours.
And for an even briefer moment, he thought about tripping up that old lady so he could take her place on stage.
