Summary
“You know, when Wayne Gretzky was a kid he had to move away from home,” said Theriault. “He was too good. The other kids’ parents kept booin’ him at his games. He must have been a lonely guy.” He nodded at the team, still fumbling their way through the basic drill. “Those guys have each other. They’ll go home, or maybe out to a bar, and complain about their captain with the stick up his ass. And next game, they’ll play together, side-by-side.”
“I’m by their side,” Shane protested.
Theriault shook his head. “You’re not, Hollander. You’re flying ahead, leaving them in your dust. I’m just sayin’ it’s a lonely world at the top. Don’t be discouraged if they’re never at your level. No one is.”
He stood up to walk away, removing his hand from Shane’s shoulder. They exchanged a nod and he walked off. Before he was completely gone, however, he called over his shoulder—
“Except Rozanov, of course!” Shane’s heart leapt to his throat. “Not that he’s ever gonna give you much company.”

Summary
A horrifying attack hits too close to home, both literally and figuratively, and it triggers something in Sebastian that he can't quite name. There's something awful in him, something rotten, and when Kurt is the next victim of the attackers, the awfulness becomes nearly overwhelming.
The world is unfair. It doles out punishment to the good, and rewards to the bad, and all Sebastian can do is hold on tight to the people he cares about, whether he deserves them or not.

Summary
“Why can’t she, and everyone else, just understand that, yes, you were my first love…” said Blaine.
“And you were mine,” said Kurt.
“...but I just think that, like you always say, we’re probably better off as great friends, you know?”
Kurt wondered if a ‘great friend’ would lie to their ‘great friend’ to screw them over and make them jealous. Probably not, but a ‘great friend’ also probably wouldn’t start dating the ex-bully of their ‘great friend’ and then be a dick about it, so it didn’t really matter.

Summary
“It’s never stopped me from contributing to this team.”
Contributing. Those deadweight fucks. Those vicious, pig-headed, sluggish morons were contributing — Shane was carrying.
He'd carried the Montreal Metros out of mediocrity and single-handedly gotten them three fucking Stanleys. He’d borne that team like a goddamn cross on his back for twelve fucking years, without him they would be a ragtag group of ‘nobody-gives-a-fucks’, and this was the thanks he got?
Shane crashes out and eats junk food while yelling at the TV after the Metros are dicks in TLG.

Summary
If Sebastian could allow himself just one tiny complaint about his New York life, it would probably be his hot New York boyfriend’s ex who just wouldn’t leave them the fuck alone. That, and that his hot New York boyfriend wasn't living with him, but he could only deal with one thing at a time.
