Nick gets mortally wounded in a fight and decides to go out with a destructive bang. But as it turns out, permadeath's a little tricky for a devil. He returns to Earth, terrified of what he will find in the wake of his "death".

Summary
When the oldest Shimada enters the fold, Cole doesn’t think much of him. Just another ‘holier-than-thou’ rich guy with a stick up his ass. He has known a great share of them throughout his years, and surely, this time is no different. Cole has come to terms with his past, but Hanzo can’t say the same. His first impression is none better. He finds Cole loud, talkative, and disingenuous. It’s only when they see each other for who they truly are that they find common ground.

Summary
I listened to Little Lion Man by Mumford & Sons on repeat while writing this because it fits Ghost so well.
My spiel on tumblr dot com that inspired this fic:
you know,,, Soap is injured and running through Las Almas in pain and bleeding, realistically developed some kind of infection in his shoulder and yet like 10 minutes after they escape and get to Alejandro’s safe house he’s fine.
You cannot tell me he wouldn’t be tired and dizzy from pain and blood loss, and the infection he definitely had. Ghost would have shaky hands trying to patch up his shoulder. Soap would say “You got me out of there L.T., you got me.” and Ghost would just stay quiet, knowing that if he speaks his voice will betray him. Because he didn’t know if Soap would make it out, all he had to do was trust him, and that was already too difficult for him.

Maybe that ‘something else’ could have been beautiful, but as the years pass, a happy ending seems less and less likely.
