“My daughter. Katniss,” Aaron says shortly.
Emily holds his eye contact stoically. “I’m SSA Prentiss, we spoke on the phone.” She holds her hand out for a shake but he just stares at it, nonplussed. “This is my unit chief SSA Everdeen, his daughter is one of the victims. We were on the case originally six years ago before it went cold.” -

But Peter’s moving at lightning speed. By the time Harley’s finished the damn sentence, his tongue is on Harley’s chest.
Harley groans. “Pete,” he gasps. “Babe.”
“Mm?” Peter hums into his armpit.
Harley laughs kind of crazedly. “Green?” is all he gets out.
“Peachy.”
“Peachy green?”
“Yeah.”
“That makes no sense.”
“You make no sense,” Peter mumbles, pushing his tongue into Harley’s mouth. “I’m very green. I promise.”
“Okay,” Harley giggles. “Okay. Get your pants off, weenie.”
“The way you sweet-talk me,” Peter fake-swoons.---
By the time Peter and Harley are finally able to start taking things safely to the next level, they're both more than a little desperate.

Cut to interview Peter, who plants his elbows on his knees and says, “I owe everything to Tony. Really, basically everything in the world. If he hadn’t been there with me in the Room, hadn’t... loved me and supported me the way he did… I wouldn’t be here right now, that’s for sure. He was all that kept me going. That sounds pretty depressing, but - that was it. He was it. I mean, there’s not a lot to look forward to in life when you’re facing, like, an interminable amount of time stuck in a little room, getting violated by this random guy whenever he so pleases.”
He pauses, jaw tight.
“But Tony was amazing. He somehow managed to stay calm and comforting, just - all the time. He’d get beaten up, and just walk it right off and crack a joke. I can’t comprehend how he managed that, but… I sure am glad about it.”---

Blinking awake to a soft nudging at his chin, Peter can’t quite tell where he is for a moment.
He’s used to being jerked awake by the click of the Room’s door opening or invading hands where they shouldn’t be or, at best, Tony’s roughened call of “morning, kid.” This gentle touch is none of these things.
Light seeps past his eyelids, real light, sunlight from underneath his curtains in his room - and then a flash of white fur.
He searches blearily for the source of the fluff. It melts like cotton candy beneath his fingers. The nudging is coming from a black button nose.
“Kobol.”
It still feels like a dream that the bundle of fluff in his arms is his dog. Every inch of him is overwhelmed by affection for Kobol, his tiny, floppy ears, his bright eyes, his dainty paws, the translucent set of whiskers that frame his snout.
His dog.* * *
On the 20th of October 2020, Kobol became Peter Parker's dog. This is the story of their friendship through the years. After all, dogs are man's best friend.
