There was 5 minutes left of regulation time.
He needed to score.
Not one player could touch him, his speed was unmatched and his stick handling rivaled only by Rozanov who was a couple metres behind him and wouldn’t be able to catch up before he shot the puck right into the goal.
As soon as the puck left his stick he felt weird. The arena started spinning and his vision was blacking out in spots. Shane was barely able to take in all the cheers and the roar of the home crowd before he hit the ice.

Honestly, Ilya knew he was fucked. He knew he was heading for a dangerous place. Just when he thought he had hit rock bottom he found out it had a basement but this time he didn’t want to drag himself back from it. So many times he’d done it before. After his mama died, after Sasha, after his first real girlfriend broke up with him because he was too sad and boring, after he realised that going pro in hockey didn’t fix all of his problems. After after after it never bloody stopped like an endless barrage of pain and suffering tailored specifically to him. Every single time, he had managed to claw his way out of whatever hell hole he’d fallen into and every single time he’d fallen back in deeper.

Everywhere in the castle was full of chaos and students and gifts as children bid goodbye to their friends before the holidays. Today was the day that everyone who was going home for the holidays left meaning only Remus and a few others would be left behind.
Much to Remus’ surprise when he entered the dorms coming back from dropping Lily and Mary off by the boats, Sirius’ trunk was packed and gone. All of his things missing from the dormitory as if he was never there in the first place.
Remus thought that things were finally changing between them after finding him atop the astronomy tower. As much as he still resented Sirius he thought that he’d be able to start fixing things if he stayed with Remus.
