Summary
Anne and Gilbert, aged 26, are childhood friends who have grown apart. A chance meeting in Toronto helps them begin to restore their friendship, as well as all the very complicated feelings that always came with it. With Diana and Winifred also in the mix, in a matter of days everyone finds themselves in a hellishly tangled mess of unexpected feelings. It's 2019, Green Gables is a restaurant, and they didn't get their happy ending in high school.

Summary
Betty Cooper was hopelessly in love with her best friend Jughead Jones.
Up until the first night of summer, she is hopeful that he might love her too. It was in the way that he tugs her ponytail and smiles at her, the way that he held onto her just a little longer when they hugged, it was in the way he told her that he loved her laugh, and it was in the way that he was always, always looking out for her.
So when the two of them have a moment and Jughead gives her the cold shoulder all Betty can think about is where she went wrong. Before she can figure it out though, the unthinkable happens and she disappears for the entire summer. When she gets back, her friends aren’t speaking and Jughead can barely look at her.
Can she fix things between her and Jughead and mend their friendship? Or is all hope lost forever?

Summary
Chapter 27 is up! Nothing here but bedroom shenanigans and people who love each other... (also, turns out there is one more chapter after this).
(This is the story where Anne eventually falls gravely ill and Gilbert sobs through several chapters, if you're into that kind of thing. Then there's mild smut.)
Compliant with canon through the end of Season 3, at the brilliant suggestion of a commenter I have reimagined mischievous Roy Gardner, because I can only imagine what he would do if his darling Anne had her heart broken the way it was in episodes 7-10 (until the end). Naturally he will spend much of his time pushing Gilbert's buttons, because he's very good at it and he's feeling very protective of Anne after her recent heartbreak.
The first two chapters are similar to the other work because it's the same Roy and he has the same kind of relationship with Anne. I reworked it only to make the timelines and circumstances fit canon. Different story with the same characters starting at chapter 3.

Summary
Bash arrives at Green Gables in the middle of the night, holding onto a nearly unconscious and terribly ill Gilbert. All he can do is hope the Cuthberts can keep him safe in time for him to fetch a doctor.
Turns out whatever sickness Gilbert has won't be going away overnight. In fact, things tend to get worse. However, Anne will be right there with him, and she's willing to stay for however long it takes.

Summary
Anne Shirley Cuthbert and Gilbert Blythe are next door neighbours, but they despise each other.
It didn't used to always be this way, in fact at one time they were best friends. But things change following a personal tragedy for Gilbert, and by high school the two are practically strangers.
Anne's life seemed to be going well: she was in charge of organising the school Centennial dance, she was accepted into college, and she was dating one of the most handsome boys in school: Roy Gardner. Only he breaks up with her mere weeks before the dance.
When Gilbert's girlfriend Winifred also breaks up with him, Anne comes up with a crazy scheme to get their ex's back: pretend to date to make them jealous.
Simple right? If only they don't kill each other first...

Gilbert stared at her with wide eyes, struggling to take in a breath. “Carrots?” he muttered, his hand travelling to her braid. If this were a different situation, Anne would have scolded him, or yelled at him, or possibly even broken something over his head like last time; but the reality hit her hard, and she couldn’t for one second be mad at him for bringing back her dreaded nickname. In fact, she was glad of it- at least he still recognised her.

My fond addition to the oft-mined time at the end of Anne of the Island; what happened in the long weeks between Anne's 'Book of Revelation' and 'When Love Takes up the Glass of Time'? What happens when love and potential loss are realised in the same moment?
This is a canon-compliant story hoping to fill in some gaps and explore paths not taken by LMM, from the time Anne and Gilbert reconnect through to their marriage. It stands separate to my other one-shots but can certainly be read alongside them. I love Anne of the Island and Anne's House of Dreams, and hope this does them justice.
