Din pushed the door open carefully, the end of his rifle the first to enter the room. But he wasn't met with any resistance.
He was met with the sight of a man. Blond, soft features, completely bare (but for the blindfold around his head), and covered in small cuts and bruises. His wrists were tied above his head, hanging from the ceiling by a taut rope, only his toes could slightly lessen the strain he must feel on his arms and shoulders, as they barely touched the cold stone floor. He was thin too, far too thin. Pale. Alone.
Even with all those inhumane cruelties, he recognized him as the hostage, Luke.

Where Din is hired to rescue Luke from being abducted. But the road is cold and difficult as they try to escape the enemy through northern Alaska while growing closer in each other's comfort.

Summary
Will opens and closes the door to Mike’s room and walks them over to the side of Mike’s bed that wasn’t against the wall. He all but dumps Mike onto his bed, ducking his head out from under Mike’s arm, but as Mike goes down, he finds Will's wrist and tugs. Hard.
Will lets out a surprised noise as he crashes down on top of Mike.
“Mike! What the hell?!” He whisper yells. He tries to sit up but Mike’s grip moves from his wrist to his shoulder and he shoves him into the small space between his body and the wall.
“Dude seriously, cut it out.” Will says, exasperated.
Or: Mike and Will are home from college for the summer and they deal with grief, friendship, and love that has never quite been able to keep itself dormant.

Dunk had been right before, to compare meeting Aerion Targaryen to the feeling a victory at a tourney must grant someone. Truly, he feels it right now as he takes Aerion, hard and fast, as if he were in rut and feral.
