Summary
Mike thinks that he’s dying and this is how the gods blessed him to be spending the last of his days. He rests his head on Will’s shoulder, bare thighs brushing against each other. He feels like crying, but he won’t, so he bites his lower lip and tries to restrain a sob bubbling up in his throat.
“I don’t want to ruin this…” he mutters, his shaky voice muffled against Will’s shirt. Will laughs reassuringly, caressing his back like how he does when Mike runs to him, crying, back in kindergarten.
“Ruin what?”
“Our friendship, Will.”
Will was quiet, then; “Maybe I do want you to ruin it.”
—
alternatively, mike got prescription glasses. and one day, during one of their sleepovers, will thought of testing out the waters.

Summary
“If you’re awake,” Wheeler says, voice smooth as it emits from the radio, “you know where to find me.”
Will told himself he won’t call again tonight.
He’s already dialing.
OR
Mike a.k.a 'Wheeler on the Wire' is the host of campus radio show "The Knight Shift." He talks like someone out there is really listening, but has no one to say the important things to.
Will a.k.a. 'The Artist' has too many things to feel and not enough time to spend on his art, until a late-night station crackles to life in his room.
Somewhere between static, music, and missed connections, they fall in love.

Summary
Eleven did not know what a friend was, she did not know what school was, or kisses, or sleepovers, or parties.
She did not know what love was, but Mike had explained it. Love was when people were girlfriend and boyfriend. Love was when people held each others hand and kissed to say 'hello'.
But Eleven never knew that love was a feeling as well. That love was gut wrenching and honey sweet and all consuming.
She did not know love could be between two girls...OR: When Hop is injured from the explosion of the Russian machine, he spends a lot of his time in hospital. Time in which Max is asked to keep an eye on Jane. Navigating their own demons, the two begin to trust each other fully, and finally, realize that they might just have feelings for one another...

Summary
Mike tears into the package with a bit too much gusto; it rips, straight through Will’s return address, and he curses. He tries again, more carefully this time, and manages to ease the package open with a few careful yanks.
A CD case slides out onto his desk. Mike checks the package, and nope, no note; nothing but a cover with a man holding a microphone on it and a CD inside.
Mike gently hits the eject button on his player and carefully replaces the disc. It slides in easily, but before he hits play, he checks the back of the case.
There. Circled, in shaky black ink, is the title Lover, You Should’ve Come Over.
Something sinks in Mike’s gut.
fall, 1994. mike and will reconnect through music.
