Summary
The door handle clicked as he turned it. Unlocked, it pushed open.
Silence greeted him. Not the hum of the oven, nor the muffled sound of music. No sound of his mum walking around the rooms— He could always hear her walk, as the walls were paper thin— just silence. Izuku crept into the entry, eyes panning around the space.
“Mum?” he called.
An eerie silence came over the house when he was met with no response. He strained his ears to hear something— anything— the sound of her silent snores, soft shuffling, steps. Maybe even some escaping music from those polka-dot headphones she adored.
Instead, he heard a faint.. scratching? Like a cat, that was trying to find a way to urge the door to open.
Or, It was like something was trapped inside and desperate to get out.
Or, like it was something that only started to claw in his direction, when it had heard him.
(Or, it was a they, not an it, his voice whispered to himself.)
A clammy palm found a chef’s knife left innocently in the drying rack, after darting eyes latched onto its glinting hilt.
OR
no outline, no communication. Just two authors, and a love for horror/angst.
