His body felt like lead. His stomach seemed to hollow out entirely before falling from a height Hajime knew was not possible. There was a sour taste in his mouth, threatening to make him gag. Hammers pounded inside his head like it was a gong, and his heart beat faster and faster with each passing second. He could swear his lungs had filled with cotton by how hard it was to breathe. Confusion, heartbreak, and fear fought for dominance in the raging battle that had become his mind.
He knew what the petal and the pain in his chest were, but he refused to acknowledge it. There was no way he had Hanahaki.

Summary
Hajime Hinata is a successful and accomplished monster hunter. The only issue is a strange bite on his left shoulder: an attack from a wolf that seemed just a bit too vicious to be normal. Aside from that, everything is going fine--until he gets sent out on a vampire hunt, where everything goes wrong all at once.
Now trapped together in an old castle, it seems Hajime and Komaeda have a lot to learn about what makes a monster and what being human really means.

Summary
Hajime believes there are truly very few things in life that can surprise him anymore. As usual, Komaeda is one of them.
Or: Nagito locks himself in a cage, and Hajime finds out he has some deep, forgotten kinks. He is as determined to try and ignore them as he is to help Komaeda. With an internally screaming Hajime and a pining Nagito, shenanigans ensue.
(This is a longer, slow burn canon-compliant post dr3 piece, with a generally fluffy, comforting take on komahina & the cast living on the island. There's pining, a lot of pining. Plot happens. A lot of things happen, actually. Oh, and bdsm. That too :) )
