After being left behind Alastor is the one to find a wounded Lucifer after the battle, taking the king into his care this was suppose to be a manipulation a way to get something out of the pathetic king.
He wasn't suppose to care.
The man was pathetic.
And yet, he was as broken as any sinner in hell perhaps more as the one's who were suppose to love him seem to only cause him pain
A familiar pain he knew all too well from life, he doesn't care thats ridiculous.

The orphans become newsies, working for a penny a paper. As time passes, they work up the ranks of their separate boroughs.
Two of the orphans get sent to the Refuge. They almost lose their lives and their hearts. The trauma brings the boy and girl closer together than ever. They learn to stand up for what's right, without fear.
Jack Kelly does what’s right when he starts the Newsboys Strike of 1899. Josie Conlon does what's right when she stands by his side once again.
Together they will change the ideals of a nation and maybe fall for each other all at once.

Summary
Rumor has it that Spot Conlon and Racetrack Higgins met when Race started selling in Brooklyn because of his love for gambling. That isn't as true as the other boys in their lodging houses tend to make it seem. Though, they don't necessarily mind the false rumors. They hide the much darker truth. The truth that still causes Race to make the walk from Manhattan to Brooklyn in the middle of the night sometimes, even several years later.
