Suddenly it’s too much, too soon. This is evisceration, and it hurts more than he thought it might. It feels fucking stupid. Several hours of today wasted in agony, and somehow the part involving the metaphorical heart is a thousand times worse than the body’s theatrics.
Or: Jaemin wakes up in pain. They have a lot of conversations about it.

“Why not?” Jeno asks. “They haven’t opened fire, though we’re defenceless. It’s likely just a defence from a cargo ship that doesn’t have a licence, a distraction while they warp away to avoid detection.”
“That’s what they want you to think,” he says, too quickly to be anything but certainty, or fear.

Jaemin only had two songs left to perform before he could go home and give up the act. Taking a deep breath, and swaying dangerously when Chenle accidentally bumped into him, Jaemin convinced himself that everything was going to be okay, that he was going to perform well, that he wouldn’t ruin their concert.
So what if he was sick? So what if he felt like he was burning and freezing all at once? So what if it was a little hard to breathe and that he was just about to collapse? He could do this. He really can.
Unfortunately, his body had other ideas.

He just wants them to treat him normally because he's FINE!
Taeyong reminds him that he's not fine. He needs to admit that he's not okay and learn how to ask for help when he needs it. Only then will his friends stop fussing.

Remus Lupin and Regulus Black show up at school at the start of Year 12 like they own the place (and technically, with all the money they stole from their parents, they kind of do). They're living together, best friends, maybe a little traumatised, and definitely in a band with a few other maniacs: Evan Rosier, Barty Crouch Jr., Pandora Rosier and Dorcas Meadowes. James Potter falls in love with Regulus as soon as he walks in the door, Sirius Black short-circuits the moment Remus opens his mouth, and suddenly everything is complicated. Songwriting is everyone’s therapy, and that’s great for the band ’cause everyone’s a pining mess. There’s parties, there’s pining, a healthy amount of emotional damage, and one very good indie rock band that will get their entire school screaming for them at a function.

Also, the Gryffindor Lions team in this fic is entirely inspired by LUMOSINLOVE's Sweater Weather & Vanciere series. Absolute must-read. Sweater Weather had me in a chokehold for a good 3 months.You don't need to have read it to read this, but I highly recommend just for your enjoyment.
