“But you’re a murderer,” Ann says. Again. He truly, sincerely, honestly, does not know how his dearly loathed rival deals with them.
OR: Akechi may be a murderer, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t annoyed that the only decently tasting vegan curry belongs to his one and only rival’s cafe. OR: A study in obligations.

The hand is bare. It’s probably ridiculous to fixate on that, but his hand is bare and warm, real human skin against Ren’s jaw. Similarly, Akechi is… softer, here. Less sharp, less polished. He’s traded his crisp collared shirt and starched slacks for well-worn house clothes. He’s lovely.

Summary
The Story of the Lost Princess of Sol is one that Infinite the Jackal knows well. She knows the story of Mephiles the Dark and her abilities well, and she intends to be the one to release the Princess of Darkness from her captivity. The princess is powerful, and ancient relics tend to flock to her. The stories say ancient gemstones and magical stones can be found in her tower, and Infinite intends to find out just how true these stories are.
Infinite the Jackal needs Mephiles the Dark's help to rebuild the Phantom Ruby, a potent stone with enough illusion magic to convince a country to bow to one single individual. It was split in half long before Infinite was born but she intends to be the one to reunite it. She will make the ruby whole again, and the entire world will be at her mercy, but she needs Mephiles to either give her the other half, or to locate it.
Infinite goes into the tower expecting a fight, perhaps a challenge.
What she doesn't expect, however, is the most beautiful being she had ever lay her eyes on. Enthralling, enchanting, and utterly perfect.
Infinite had thrown away her squad once before, but...perhaps being in a duo would work better.
