“You're going to die!” Kris shouted suddenly.
Noelle screamed.
After the Roaring Knight's defeat, a sudden interference gives the Angel a chance to go back to before Dess ever disappeared. Alone in a world years before its time, the Angel must navigate this new situation to save Dess and prevent the tragedies of the prophecy, no matter the cost.

also "this plot would be resolved in 10 seconds if they communicated" is very much in effect here... but where's the fun and satisfaction in people actually talking things out sensibly instead of creating overcomplicated workarounds, acting avoidant, and making stupid decisions? that's boring and lame, starve yourself on herbal tea and gravel you fucking philistine
very much excited to see where this goes, though i will have to wait with bated breath to do so, since currently as of writing this the author explicitly won't be able to stick to their weekly chapter schedule for next chapter (if you're reading this author don't rush yourself please) -

Summary

Summary

You feel a migraine coming on, but it’s fine.
After all, it’s not like ‘YOU’ feel it. The throbbing behind Kris’s temples and the prisms of dancing color in their vision don’t actually affect their walking speed, or their Dark World stats, or the brilliant white SAVE points scattered around like fallen stars. In terms of status ailments, it’s nothing more than one more line of flavor text in a full chorus of one-liners still echoing from last night’s encounter.
You feel your migraine getting worse, but it’s fine.
You feel your heartbeat pulsing at the edges of your skull with every noise echoing through the Dark Sanctuary, but it’s fine. (It has to be fine.)
You feel a migraine settling in deeper, but it’s fine, it’s fine, IT HAS TO BE FINE.
(Or: fic where Susie, Ralsei, and the SOUL notice Kris is not fine. A bit of early prodding sends the whole plan unraveling early, and Susie, Ralsei, and a disembodied SOUL are forced to improvise.)
