Sanji had said it first.
At the time, Zoro had thought, 'Yeah, good riddance.'
He’d watched Sanji walk away, shoulders heaving from the most heated shouting match they’d ever had, and he hadn’t regretted anything. Even as the days melted into weeks leading up to their arrival on Sabaody, he hadn’t regretted saying what he said. It’d taken him a long time to even think up the possibility that he could’ve said anything else, that he could’ve caught Sanji by the wrist and said, ‘Sorry, I didn’t mean that. Don’t go.’
And once he’d realized that, he knew there would’ve been a 99.9% chance that Sanji would’ve turned around and said ‘Sorry’ too. It would’ve been so simple. Hindsight truly was 20/20.

As he expected, a light blush dusted Gawain’s cheekbones. Gran hadn’t kept his eyes on the road or his comments to himself. How could he? In the past few weeks, Gawain had turned an entire population of people who hated him into an army of loyal supporters and fans. The treaty signed between Dalmore, Wales, and Feendrache played heavily into this, but clearly, the people were completely and utterly taken in by this new Gawain. Gran was proud of him. Proud to have him on the crew, to fight by his side, to be his close confidante.
Most of all, he was proud to call himself Gawain’s lover… no, husband.

Kaneki was, honest-to-whatever-gods-existed, so damn beautiful it would take Hide’s breath away so often it was a wonder why he was even still alive. His “lonely as a bunny” catchphrase stuck in his throat and he felt himself swaying from a surreal sensation that felt almost like vertigo, or like his head had been stuffed full with cotton and he couldn’t even try to think or speak, just look at the vision that stood at the threshold of the place.
The doors themselves were dangling from their bottom hinges, showing the aftereffects of a well-placed kick. Kaneki stepped over the carnage of steel and glass gingerly, like he was scared he’d incur someone’s wrath if he wrecked the entrance even further with his muscled legs. He looked at Hide, and Hide looked back, and maybe he could pretend that he was sitting at a kids’ playground watching the stars go by because that was exactly how it felt. It hurt that much.
