Summary
At one moment, Xingqiu was at home eating a burrito. At the other moment, he was stuck in the Liyue Rising Saga, a series of video games that was once renowned for a compelling plot and interesting characters, but after the nineteen year old creator died in a very odd manner, taken over by developers looking for quick cash.
The third game in the saga is being released, but the main villain decides to defy his role and leave, forcing Xingqiu in order to fill the role. The issue is, while the hero is perfectly charming but considerably bland, Xingqiu ends up attracting him anyways.

There’s a monster with gaping jaws in Mike’s chest, and it is desire; there’s a prophetic oblivion calling his name, and it is want. Both are the root of sin, and both have dug deep into his guts and veins and ink-black blood.
Will, however, seems to waver in that gray space between good and evil, virtue and sin: even his appearance marks this, with his hair that flickers between dark chocolate and ruddy blond in his light, eyes a dark brown spiked through with crushed bits of bright green, skin tanned to a nice shade contrasting with the iridescent light of his tattoos. In his strict adherence to the ways of the Holy One, he’s somehow managed to fall a bit from grace, and the messages he gives, though mixed, are comforting to Mike.
You are not beyond redemption, he seems to say with each meeting and conversation and glint in his eyes, and I am not beyond sin.
After being forced to tend to souls in the wasteland between Heaven and Hell, Mike is given a mission: deceive an angel into leading him to the gates of Heaven.

Summary
The news of the Akademiya's Acting Grand Sage murder devastated the nation of Sumeru as a whole, but, arguably, no one was as affected by the loss as Kaveh was. For him, it's not the Acting Grand Sage who died. It's Alhaitham.
Alhaitham's dead, and all Kaveh can do now is look at the missed opportunities. Alhaitham's dead, and Kaveh has to live with the knowledge that his junior died thinking they were just accidental roommates. Alhaitham's dead.
Nothing can be done now. Right?
...Right?
Would a day come when Kaveh would stop searching for a reason as to why everything had ended the way it did? Maybe it would. Was it really any easier to think that there was a set of measures that could have been taken to prevent this outcome? Was it easier to believe that Alhaitham made a miscalculation, that there was an inherent aspect of control and responsibility on his part, than to accept things as they were?
The human body is fragile. Alhaitham is…was only a human. Meaning a snap of fingers could shut down the little world he carried inside him.
