Summary
The next morning, Jack wakes to an empty bed, which isn’t surprising. The only thing he is surprised by is the little pang in his chest once he realises Robby has left. It’s not that he had any illusions about what last night was.
It’s just. It might have been nice to have breakfast together, or something.
Or: The night before Jack starts his new job as a senior attending, he hooks up with the hottest guy he's ever seen.

Summary
Robby comes back from his sabbatical, and he's different. Less prone to anger, more likely to smile; like he's achieved some step toward nirvana that Jack somehow missed.
It's irritating as all hell. Especially when Robby's hanging out with everyone else but Jack.

Summary
It had been good. It had been so good.
Until Pittfest. Until the trauma and the helplessness and the weight of everything they couldn't fix started pressing down on them like a vise. Until they started taking it out on each other because there was no one else left to bleed on.
Until they broke.
(In which Robby goes on sabbatical to get away from his husband, Jack, then comes home to fight for his marriage.)

Summary
The dawn of this year’s social season in London is on the horizon, and esteemed physician Dr. Michael Robinavitch finds himself in desperate need of an assistant to ease his workload as he prepares to navigate an influx of ailments and ambitious mamas alike.
After a blighted harvest on their farm leaves his family destitute, Dennis Whitaker is sent to Mayfair in search of work and a wage that he can send back home to support them. When he spots an advertisement seeking an assistant at the local physician’s office, it seems almost too good to be true.
Drawn together by chance, two souls form an attachment that defies everything that society expects from them.

Summary
Pieces of story that I wanted to write or sketched out as part of Not Doing It Alone that didn't fit in the main story.
Exploration of the extended found family that Robby and Jack have through the Pitt and how Zoya impacts all of their lives.
There is technically an "end" to this planned, but it will take a while to get there because I'm just planning to have fun with this for a while. I literally have three pages of notebook paper with ideas sketched out.

Summary
After the trauma bay confrontation that stops Robby from disappearing into a passively suicidal spiral, he starts therapy and tries, reluctantly, to stay alive on purpose. Then Baby Jane Doe enters his orbit and detonates something old and wounded in him. When he decides to pursue kinship fostering, Jack is horrified, convinced Robby has interpreted “get help” in the most dangerously Robby way possible. But once the process starts, Jack cannot watch him do it alone. What begins as triage becomes cohabitation, then partnership, then family.

Summary
Robby is not a damsel in distress. Except when he kind of is. And he keeps being rescued by the same SWAT medic, who moonlights as a firefighter, and also as the hottest man Robby has ever seen.
Robby is a hot mess. Dana is a delight. Parker is a troll. And Jack just keeps trying to hit on the hot emergency department doctor who seems to be entirely oblivious to all of his best lines.

Summary
“It doesn’t have to mean anything,” Jack assures him gently, breath ghosting over the shell of Robby’s ear. “Let me help you out, brother. No strings attached.”
Robby squeezes his eyes shut.
He wants to laugh. He wants to scream. He wants to turn around and grab Jack by the shoulders and tell him it does mean something, that it has to mean something, because he’s been in love with Jack for the last twenty fucking years and he’s desperate for this to finally be real.
Robby hasn’t been able to get off since PittFest. Jack, being the good friend he is, offers to help.

Summary
“We just went on a date,” Jack says, very matter of fact. “Given our history, I’m not keen on waiting for two more before I decide if you’re worth it.”
Something that feels like inevitability, that there is no option for him other than going home with Robby tonight. Jack wasn’t just walking him home.
“Seems you’ve already made up your mind,” Robby says, trying for an even tone to mask the pounding of his heart. They’re really doing this.
"Sweetheart,” Jack rumbles, part sarcasm and part honesty, a word in a tone Robby’s never heard from him before, not once, “I made up my mind a long time ago.” And then he’s moving in, two heavy footsteps before one big hand cups the back of Robby’s neck and pulls him down, lips meeting.

Summary
"Would you ever do something like that?"
Dennis looks up from his phone, "Huh?"
Robby realizes that he sort of just pulled that question out of thin air. That the last time they discussed it was hours and hours ago. But he's bored. And he's drunk. And he's curious. "The fuckin' no nut thing."
It's hard to tell in the dim park lights, but he thinks Whitaker is turning a very pretty shade of pink.
"Oh! Uh… is that really an appropriate thing to discuss with my boss?"
Dennis and Robby make a bet.

Summary
Robby has spent years filing his feelings for Jack away under safer guises— friendship, companionship, collegial affection— because those nomenclatures demanded nothing of him, required no explanation, threatened no irreversible shift in the careful architecture of their relationship, both inside and out of the hospital.
The term he kept coming back to, though, was brother.

Summary
"Do you want sex or do you want touch?" Robby asked, keeping it soft.
Jack flared a frustrated hand and said, "Yes." Then he shot Robby a look that called him a dumbass.
Robby rolled his eyes. "Don't be a dick, you know they're not the same."
"Right, one just encompasses the other," Jack said, apparently ignoring the dick thing.
Robby blew out a sharp breath and gave up on talking. A demonstration was in order.

“Tell me to stop”
There it was, the escape route.
Something in that moment passed between them, maybe a lifetime.Robby bumped his knee against Jack’s.
“Sorry”
“You’ve been waiting twenty years to get me alone and this is how you take me down?”More than twenty years of carefully maintained boundaries and apparently a few too many drinks at a conference were all they needed to loose their tongues and everything else.
