Summary
When they get there, Riko rushes to put the master’s urn in the mahogany desk and get away from it.
They stare at it for a long period of time. Kevin thinks he will be able to draw from memory, forever, the gold engravings in that porcelain: the painting of his, Riko’s, and Jean’s freedom.
The door opens and Jean comes in. He locks the door after himself, and comes near, resting a hand in Kevin’s shoulder.
“It’s beautiful,” he says, adoring.
They admire it for a moment longer.
Riko gets closer and opens the seal, looking inside. Kevin can’t see his face.
He says, “I want to piss on it.”
Jean snorts. “Can I be second?”
Kevin twists his nose, and says, “That’s unbecoming,” then adds, “maybe in the 49th day we could flush him down the toilet.”or: a shared kindle of a daydream makes life easier, and the boys, kinder. the plan makes them free.

“It was more than once?” Abby asks.
“Uh, yes. A couple of times.” Kevin is aware that the amount of times he’s been choked is kind of a lot, but doesn't everyone get choked once or twice in their life?
“No, Kevin, it’s not normal to get strangled. Most people never get strangled at all.”
Oh.or: everytime, kevin thinks he doesn't have any hope left. unfortunately for him, he always has more to lose.

The day the Butcher of Baltimore disemboweled and quartered a man in front of Kevin, Riko, and Neil is branded in Kevin’s mind not as a memory — he has little to none of the event and the following month — but as a crack between the boy he was before and the thing he became after.

Step 100 of Might Gai’s 100 step plan involved a lot of very careful footwork. It was a battle plan ten years in the making, honed through trial and failure like every other technique Gai had worked on in his life. But at last, tonight is the night that Gai will put it all on the line and ask Kakashi to join him in the passionate bloom of springtime!
Kakashi doesn't say no. What he says is much worse than that.AKA: the Konoha sex trauma extravaganza

Summary
There is a terrible, beautiful stillness to Gai now, a stillness Kakashi has only ever seen in shinobi determined to die. He could say something. He has said many things to many men standing on the threshold: orders, lies, prayers. None of them have ever mattered. This is not a choice he can pull back from the edge with a word. It is a choice Gai has been walking toward for a long time, as naturally as breathing.

Summary
Gai has spent years reaching for Kakashi in every way he knows how: loudly, stubbornly, without ever turning away.
He never imagined Kakashi had been carrying a piece of him all along. Or that, sometimes, it was enough to bring him home.
