Summary
Ekko lifted an eyebrow at her as his fingers began to move again. “You always go into abandoned shops when you’re thinking?”
“Only on occasion,” she replied, making the corners of Ekko’s lips rise just barely enough for her to count it as a smile. Powder didn’t know what to do with that. Count it as a victory? A failure?
She counted it as a start.
-
In a world where Ekko was taken in by Silco and Powder was left alone, Powder does her best to handle her duties as the leader of the Firelights. Things take a turn when her past catches up with her.
Role Reversal AU. Set between S1E3 and S1E4.

Summary
Jason Grace should not have survived the Hunger Games. He knew that, his district knew that, the Olympians who watched as people like him died knew that. He was thirteen, the second youngest tribute in the games, and his district only had one other living victor.
But Jason was nothing if not driven. Jason was nothing if not a warrior, and he knew he would fight until he had no fight left in him.
He survived, with three murders heavy on his mind and the guilt of 23 deaths following him. He was then known as the youngest person to survive the Hunger Games, the only thirteen year old to have killed three tributes in the games.

Summary
There were no remains found. It was expected, but not any less sickening. Remains are hard to find in deaths as gruesome as his. A part of Jason, an irrational, delusional part of him, hoped that meant Leo could be alive somewhere, but he knew that wasn't possible. He was sure of it.
When the Greek hero had blown himself to pieces, destroying Gaea as he did, he left and took all the colours that killed and were ignited by Leo Valdez.

Summary
ekko looks at her— really looks at her, like he could pick out every artery and every vein spurring the mechanism of her inner framework by name, if she asked him to.
stares, until she can see the tremble in his hands; the way his lashes clump together at the edges, like he still wants to cry. the damn-near unbearable warmth of him— of ekko, ekko, ekko, all tangled up in the mess of her, of jinx; fingers curling against her with the kind of selfishness that makes her think he was never going to learn his lesson.
one, two. one, two.
and then he kisses her.

Summary
“I hate you,” she says.
“Don’t say things you don’t mean,” Ekko says. He has a shit eating grin, and god, why must he be so disarmingly handsome?
“Fuck off,” she says, no bite in her voice. It’s easy for Ekko to grab her wrist and push the gun off his chest, he pulls her closer by her waist.
“I missed you, Jinx,” he confesses into her hair.
(or: Jinx and Ekko secretly reconnect while she still works for Silco, and a slip-up causes her to re-think the choices she's made up until now.)

Summary
Jinx looked over at him, at the way he was crouching to gently pull a scrap of wire out of Isha’s fingers before she broke it—or herself. His voice was soft when he explained what it did, fingers brushing hers as he showed her the switch mechanism. The girl nodded seriously, enthralled.
Something twisted and loosened all at once in her chest.
“You really don’t do things halfway,” she said, a little too quiet, a little too honest.
Ekko glanced over at her and gave a crooked smile. “Not with you.”

A chance meeting in a derelict attic.
Accidental at first. Then deliberate.
Neutral ground — until it isn’t.OR
Sometime shortly before season 1 episode 4, Jinx and Ekko start meeting up in a ruined attic. On opposite sides of a war, their meetings are fragile and tense, but something keeps pulling them back — to the dust, the silence, the quiet space between past and future, where nothing is said and everything matters.

Summary
Jinx'd had big plans involving herself and a date with an airship headed who-knows-who-cares-where. But if she’s too busted-up to crawl in a straight line through a fucking ventilation shaft, she doesn’t have a chance at clambering through rigging.
Time to think about this critically. Where’s a girl to go, after she’s faked her own death? What hidden hearth is she to crawl to, what savior is there to give her refuge?
Well. Of all the girls in the world who have faked their own deaths, she must be an especially lucky one, because, even if she has to scoot on her ass through an air duct to get there, she knows exactly where she’s going.
Or, a season two post-finale timebomb fix-it, wherein some very important conversations are finally had and some very long-term pining is finally resolved.

Summary
"I brought you here, for space," Ekko explains when Jinx drags herself out of his lap, stands on shaky legs to get a better look. "Uh, sorry, I just thought the crowd was overwhelming you."
"Why do you care?" Jinx rasps, her voice scratching against her throat. "Why did you bring me to your space in the first place?"
"It's what I told you," Ekko says, so gently, more gently than Jinx thinks she's ever deserved. "And I… I've given up on you, before. I don't want to make that mistake again. Okay?"
