What I had in mind when I started writing was a funny/Odd Couple sort of one-shot but, man, it went dark and twisty really fast. I have been rewatching The Good Wife while I do the dishes and über bitch Jackie Florrick just inspired me with Eileen. I hope that doesn't put you off.
The fic is set in 2052. It describes a day in the life of Hermione's widowhood. Severus died in 2029 aged 69. Hermione was 50. She is now 73 and Eileen has been living with her for over 25 years.
