Summary
“Home,” Lance echoes disbelievingly, as he stares and stares at it.
Homeland. Holy site. Mi patria, he thinks, and then fat tears are rolling down his cheeks.

“Sweetheart,” says Lance, his hair longer, his shoulders broader, the slope of his nose uneven now where it didn’t used to be, “you don’t know the half of it.”

Summary
Allura’s gaze snags, then stays.
Pale-skinned and purple-eyed, with a face crafted by the star nymphs themselves, Nyma lounges languidly before Allura, spread arms resting over the top of her seat in the universal gesture for I own the place.
Oh, quiznak, thinks Allura, as she reaches for her glass of water and gulps. I did not think this through.

Summary
“Then come see me,” Lance murmurs, and it makes Keith’s heart pound behind his breastbone. “Us, I mean. Once a week or something? Like mental health check-ins. We can just hang out, or...or go on low-priority, low-stress missions? Scouting, or flower-picking for Coran, or supply runs. Dumb stuff. Just...so we know how you are. I don’t want...I mean, we all miss you. And I don’t want to sound presumptuous, but...it feels like you’re not...not okay, Keith.”
Well, Keith thinks, a little weakly. He never really stood a chance, did he?
“Okay,” he says, right away. No fight. No refusal.
His life is a hell of a lot easier when he lets himself cave under all the ways he wants Lance's luminous attention, and company, and friendship. All the ways he wants Lance, full stop.

Summary
“Not—not that you’d be my rebound! I mean, you’d be helping me take my mind off of this guy, but to be a rebound, I’d have to have dated him first, I think, and he doesn’t even know I like him, so. You wouldn’t be a rebound. At worst, we become badass partners-in-crime with a grudging respect for each other, at best, we’re soulmates for life and this is fate trying to help us find happiness. So. Um.” Lance swallows and looks up at the Blade of Marmora soldier through his lashes. “What say you?”
They look down at their hands for a moment, fingers twisting together in deep thought. Then they’re pulling their gloves off, revealing pale, half-bruised knuckles of the human variation, and their mask is dissolving, giving way to big blue-purple eyes and an achingly familiar jet-black cowlick. “Who,” says Keith Kogane, in that low-pitched rumble that makes Lance’s stomach roil in the good way—holy fuck—“is this guy you’re trying to get over?”

Summary
“Lance.”
“I believe you mean ’Sir Lance,’” Lance serenely replies, not turning to acknowledge who just walked into his tent. His squire is still fastening his armor, after all; no point hindering her progress just for the charade of civility that neither one of them mean anyway.
“And I believe you should be addressing me as ‘Your Highness,’” comes the retort, rather unexpectedly. Lance usually gets away with his little mockeries. Perhaps today isn’t the day to push things.
Not that that will really stop Lance from trying. He turns his head just enough to spare a cool glance over his shoulder. “Courtesy begets courtesy.”
Prince Keith’s jaw visibly twitches as he grinds his teeth. “Sir Lance.”
---
The king arranges a tourney. The prize: the prince’s hand in marriage.
Sir Lance has no intention of claiming the grand prize and enters solely to irritate Prince Keith. Things don’t quite go according to plan, though.

Summary
“What’s the fun in a masquerade if you don’t flirt outrageously with the prettiest person in the room?” the young man says flippantly, and then winks at Keith. Keith huffs a laugh, amused.
“You keep saying things like that, but you haven’t seen my face,” he says, gesturing to his mask. “I could have warts under here. I could have spots, or scars.”
“You’d be lovely even with all of those,” the young man says, and he suddenly sounds serious. It takes Keith by surprise, makes his heart twist along with his stomach. “Your eyes,” he continues, tilting his head. “I’ve never seen eyes like yours before.”

Summary
Lance turns his face towards the tree line meandering off to the edge of the coast, feeling every system in his body light up simultaneously. “Keith.”
He lifts his wrists and Keith’s hands follow them up. He shifts closer on his knees, mouth turned down, desperate.
“So you can’t expect me to leave you here,” Keith says, “I know that I’m asking you to walk away from your home. But you’re asking me to walk away from mine.”
(prompt: when they get to Earth, Lance wants to stay)

Summary
Keith had never really believed in love, not really, but thinking back to the day he met Adam, to Shiro’s tone as he introduced them, back to all the times they’d gone grocery shopping together and watched movies in the dark, Shiro and Adam on the couch and Keith on the floor with a bowl of popcorn in his lap, he thought maybe he could believe in it. Or at least that he wanted to.
--
“So is that something we do now?” Lance asks, looking up from where Keith’s hand rests on the bench. Where they were just touching. “Compliment each other?”
“I don’t know,” Keith says, honestly. “Maybe.”

Summary
He hasn’t said his name out loud for two years. It’s strange. He feels like he can’t. Like if he says it — even in the darkness of his room, to himself — Adam will vanish from his mind. His memories are all he has, right now.
But not for long. They’re home.
He corrects himself. They’re on Earth. Whether Shiro is going to get to go home remains to be seen.
