Fun and flirty depiction of their relationship that quickly evolves into far more. A really empathetic, patient, and devoted version of Rio that’s still fun. A perfectly jaded and insecurely secure Agatha that really captures the toxicity—and yet loyalty and love—that I adore in this character.
Chapter 5 is an explosion of feelings with one of the best, most realistic coming to terms with sexuality scenes I’ve ever read. I should read this again if I want to feel a warm hug about my sexuality.

Really solid, long Quinntana fic. Enemies to lovers with a little “and they were roommates” added in. The relationship is fun and natural with a solid amountof hooking angst, although it’s mostly just wholesome. A lot of natural internal monologue and strong character voice, which makes it fun to read. Minimal other character support. Well written. Relatively domestic. A little M rated at times. Wholesome. Strong portrayal of a caring relationship.

Kara switches clothes with a frazzled Lena and gets her to her meeting on time. Lena returns the clothes with $200. It’s effectively a one-off.
They meet again when Kara, delivering cupcakes and sheet cakes for CatCo Baking, drops by L-Corp. she says some nice (or generous) things about the Luthors without knowing who they are, which endears her to Lena.
Quickly, they become friends. Kara is very touchy-feely and great at socializing and being friendly. Lena is emotionally stunted and incredibly awkward. She hears Kara needs a place to live so she gives her a condo above her price point for $200, at first tricking her into thinking it’s just discounted and she doesn’t own the building. Kara thinks it’s a joke. Lena reveals she just likes Kara and wants to be friends (by having her stay in National City) and this is how she can make that happen.
Kara and her effectively become roommates because Kara doesn’t have furniture and not having the money to get it. Over time, they become increasingly good friends. Lucy, Alex’s gf, reveals who Lena Luthor is and that she turned in her serial killer brother.
Kara figures out how to feel about it and eventually apologizes for being weird and is friendly with Lena again. Lena, in the weirdness, was incredibly apologetic and baby! End Arc 1 about Lena’s past.Arc 2 is about dealing with their pasts. It’s revealed Kara has a heart condition of some sort. It’s related to when Mike/Mon-El almost killed her. Lena doesn’t know what the condition is specifically or the backstory. Because of medical bills and a storied past, she has a lot of debt and never finished college where she was an artist.
Lena takes Kara to meet her high socialite friends, including Morgan Edge and Jack Spheer. Jack is a good friend who was in love with Lex. She basically dated Jack on and off as a beard. He’s back trying to make amends for how he treated her, especially after she turned Lex in. Morgan Edge just hired Kara to do his cupcake order!
Lena starts dating Eve, who asked her out. Eve has some suspicious behavior but it’s all been explained away up until now. Lena, the nervous and overly socially awkward character she is, goes on a practice date with Kara to prepare for her date with Eve. They also practice kiss. End of chapter 9: she kisses kara again and asks why it doesn’t feel that way with Eve. Kara is clearly catching feelings by now but unable to articulate and realize it for herself. -
