    "I thought a woman as curious as you would be eager to get rid of her virginity and get on experimenting." Joka continued, eyes piercing Maomao.

    "Virginity is just a social construct, it's not real." Meimei said, but her words sounded lukewarm.

    "Virginity is real as long as you have it." Pairin giggled. She got up from her chair and ruffled Maomao's hair, who batted her hand away.

    Pairin moved closer to Joka, talking about which food they should order. As her sisters debated between mapo tofu and dan dan noodles, Maomao barely remembered to offer her opinion. In her mind, a plan was beginning to form.

    Amidst a personal crisis and longing to shut her sisters up about her sex life, Maomao plans an experiment with a simple objective: losing her virginity and seeing what's all that fuss about sex. After careful consideration, she chooses an ideal partner: Jinshi, an acquaintance who happens to be the biggest known playboy in campus. Now, she only needs to pull off a simple, five-step plan to get him actually interested in her.

    Unfortunately, it's easier said than done.

    “Yes, I speak Russian,” he snapped, defensive and angry. He knew that it had been a mistake to even try to be friendly with Rozanov. “Why? Do I not look Russian to you?” He scoffed.

    “No, not really,” Rozanov said. Some of his teammates laughed, although they mostly looked surprised that Shane was speaking to them at all. Rozanov didn’t laugh, though. “Are you Russian?”

    “Go fuck yourself.”

    Despite an inauspicious start, when Russia’s Ilya Rozanov learns that Canada’s Shane Hollander is fluent in Russian at their first World Junior Championships tournament, it changes everything and sets them on a different course. Instead of being branded as rivals from the very beginning, Ilya and Shane start off as friends.

    And, after all, a little friendly rivalry never hurt anyone, did it?
