Too worried that is wasn’t worth the risk but” her voice cracked, the emotions she’s been trying to push away all day force their way out. “When we finally, FINALLY got to where we were it was amazing. How did he let go so easily?!”

“I don’t have a choice Poe, you know that maybe better than anyone”
Poe sighs, leaning into the other man’s touch. He’s right. Being Commander means he’s leading his squadron on missions all the time, (granted, none of them lasted 30 days with zero comms to base) leaving Finn behind on the ground to do nothing but watch and worry.
“I know. But I still have a weird feeling about this whole thing. Just...Promise me you won’t do anything stupid. I can’t” his voice falters, the recent loses still heavy on his heart “i just can’t lose you too”
“Hey, everything's going to be ok. I promise, I'll always find my way back to back to you.”
Except this time...he didn't
Or- Finn is sent on a risky mission, but Poe has a bad feeling about it. When the transport comes back a few days late with no Finn, Poe's biggest nightmare comes true: Finn is gone...or so he thought

Summary
He starts with her face, his thumb ghosting over her cheek just above the cluster near her eye and the single one over by her ear. He's only had the pleasure of seeing this particular group a handful of times because she's usually wearing makeup to cover them up, which he doesn't think is necessary. The smaller and lighter ones dance across the roundness of her cheekbone while the larger and more prominent one stands alone. As much as he wants to move her hair behind her ear to let his fingertips trace over it, he holds back because he knows his touch will linger and cause her to wake up, and then he won't be able to have as much time gazing over her skin without her making comments about how ridiculous he's being.
He usually doesn't mind when she adoringly calls him out, but there haven't been many moments in their busy days away from each other to truly learn every stop on the map of Lucy's skin.
- Or just a fluffy one shot about Tim admiring Lucy's freckles because he totally loves each and every one of them.

Tim and Lucy make it through her last day as a rookie (and the first day after they almost kissed) and find plenty of ways to celebrate it.

She can hear quiet laughter in the room, and Grey looks like he wants to join in. Off his look, she stops. “Um. Right here, sir?”
“Officer Bradford, what about you — happiest place on Earth?”
“Easy. Dodgers game, cold beer, bases loaded.”
They're both wrong.
OR -- Tim and Lucy find out their happiest places on Earth aren't places at all. All it takes is a trip to Disneyland, an undercover princess, and more flirty touching than Disney has ever seen.
