Summary
A series of one-shots of Kirsh's early years before the start of Alien: Earth. Watch as he learns about the world around him to include the complex relationship between humans and synths and how his own relationship with his creator, Boy Kavalier, differs from others and yet holds the same intrinsic key element that all have. He is property. He is a machine. And he isn't free.
This series is likely to have no chance of plausibly fitting into canon once we find out more about Kirsh and Boy Kavalier's past. Or at the very least, particular one-shots are likely to not have any place even though within this series, each fic is meant to be connected and a slow progression leading up to the start of Alien: Earth. But until we learn more about their past, I'll have fun writing for these two fascinating characters and speculating on their complex relationship!

Summary
John Walker doesn’t sleep much. The tower is too quiet, bright, and full of people who don’t quite know what to do with him. It's a new sort of normal he can't seem to get used to, no matter how hard he tries.
Still late at night, when the halls go still, something shifts. He has said a lot these last few weeks. The one thing he hasn’t spoken up about is his ever-growing theory that the tower is haunted, not by a ghost, then by small mercies. Quiet gestures that make the days feel a little less heavy.
(Or: five small acts of care no one takes credit for, and one moment of kindness Walker can’t ignore.)
