It’s really starting to get on Eddie’s nerves.
Buck just won’t - he won’t even look at him.
Sure, when Buck had opened the door to Eddie, he’d stared for a good minute, drinking in the sight of him before throwing himself over the threshold and into Eddie’s arms, before nearly climbing over Eddie to get to Chris, hugging the kid so tightly that Eddie thought he might pop.
But now, when they’re at work or are cooking dinner or are just simply sitting on the couch, Buck will not look at him. Not in the eye, nothing.
And Eddie knows this because he can’t stop looking at Buck. -

“Are you hurt?” Eddie breathes, searching Buck’s face wildly for any indication of why he’s not talking, why he’s not doing anything other than looking into Eddie’s eyes.
“Buck, what-”
Then he feels it. The warm, wet, sticky feeling seeping into his pant leg, and he looks down between them, sees the tatters of Buck’s pant leg, sees the blood seeping between them, and sees the cause of all of it - the jagged edge of an old wine bottle, half embedded in the wound and half not.
Eddie thinks back to highschool anatomy. He thinks back to medic training in the army, he thinks back to hospital stays and x-rays and blood transfusions and he thinks back to Weston, the cheerleader with the open book fracture, and the fact that he could only thread the balloon for the REBOA into his femoral artery to save his life, because it’s the largest artery in the body.
The largest artery in the body.
And Buck has just lacerated it.Buck and Eddie get buried alive.

”Did I do it right? Eddie, how could I possibly mess it up?”
“I dunno, you of all people could figure it out.” He swipes at a stream of shampoo that was heading for his eye, and smiles when Buck sticks out his tongue.
“I guess I’ll just wait for you to be done,” Buck sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. He just wants to be clean. That is all he wants.
There’s a strange look in Eddie’s eyes, analytical and apprehensive, and Buck watches in fascination as Eddie tugs the curtain open a little more, still keeping himself covered, and says, “Showers big enough for two. Come on.”
Buck and Eddie start showering together after bad shifts.

"We’re uh,” Steve clears his throat, “Wasting body heat here. You’re cold, I’m not. I feel like there’s a solution here.”
Eddie knows what Steve is proposing, and he would rather not, because he knows himself and what will happen in his brain if Steve touches him like that - even if it’s strictly platonic. It’s happened so infrequently that when it does, Eddie can’t tell what his feelings are. He’d rather avoid getting all doe-eyed and tongue-tied over Steve.
“I’m fine,” he says again, curling in on himself a little more, “Really.”
Steve doesn’t say anything, but Eddie feels him shift a little.
Five minutes later, Steve shifts again, and suddenly, there’s a chest pressed against Eddie’s back, legs being slotted behind his, and worst of all, an arm around his waist.
“Steve,” Eddie mutters, trying to ignore the blissfully warm feeling that’s already spreading through him at Steve’s touch, “What are you doing?”Steve and Eddie start having casual sex. Despite repeated assurances that 'this is the last time' after every encounter, they just can't seem to keep their hands to themselves.

Summary
“Good thing you're not the one sucking my dick then.” The words are conversational as they fall from Eddie’s lips, as if they aren’t crazy. As if the words you’re, sucking, and my dick aren’t making Bucks mind blank. He sips his beer and tries to be nonchalant.
“You think I couldn't make you moan?” Buck's tone is undeniably cocky, reflecting a feeling he's not sure if he's really feeling at the moment. Confidence summoning from god knows where. Buck thinks the part of his brain that is in love with Eddie just Does Shit and the rest of his brain just lets it happen.
“I know you couldn't, that's the whole topic of this conversation.” And it really goes to show just how truly gone Buck is on Eddie, because he can't help himself before he's uttering-
“Can I try?”

Summary
Even though Eddie's name has been cleared legally, he's still very much on trial in the court of public opinion. Dealing drugs isn't a lucrative occupation anymore, and getting a legitimate job in a town who still considers him a killer isn't much of an option, either. Eddie is beginning to think skipping town and starting over somewhere no one knows his name is the only chance he has left. Steve has another idea.
AKA: Steve gets Eddie a job as an anonymous columnist at a local newspaper.
