Summary
Following the whole Founder's Day debacle, Jack really should have double-checked Fargo's investigation work on certain events in the new time line for himself. Perhaps then he would have also looked at his own past in this time line with greater care and attention to detail.
With his marriage to Allison already on rocky ground following Grant's return to Eureka, the arrival of someone he previously believed dead causes even more marital strife. When time begins to unravel again, only Henry recognizes the danger they are in but his attempts to correct the timeline fail until he realizes that he needs to go back further, to the beginning. The one certainty was that in a town like Eureka, where they dealt with the craziest of things and messed with higher orders of physics without a second thought, Henry never anticipated that Jack's arrival in Eureka would be the ultimate cause of the destruction of the whole universe. Henry's only hope is that he will somehow figure out how to set time back on the path it was meant to follow, and save them all.

After fifteen years as an un-bonded Sentinel, Jack Carter has come to terms with the reality that either his Guide doesn’t exist or is one of the many who chose not to join the Sentinel-Guide Union. Between his daughter's rebellions, his trigger happy deputy and the town’s insane scientists, Jack doesn’t have time to dwell on it. Then Nathan Stark comes to Eureka. Jack recognizes him immediately as a Guide. An unregistered Guide, which means by custom and law, Jack isn’t allowed to acknowledge him as a Guide. Normally, it wouldn’t be a problem. But Nathan is Jack’s Guide. Plan A: Avoid Stark. Except, rogue weather bots and the secret schemes of the town's residents make that impossible. Unfortunately, he hasn’t come up with plan B.

Summary
When Jack returns from 1947 with the others he is in for a shock. Not only is he dead in this timeline, but he died in Nathan's place. As if that is not shocking enough, he learns there were secrets in Eureka beyond Section 5, and the changes emanating from their adventure back in 1947 have brought the biggest secret of all from out of the shadows.
On the other side of the equation, Jack's return has given Nathan a chance to claim a mate he thought lost to him forever. Except Nathan doesn't know if this Jack Carter has the same feelings for him as the one he lost.
