Summary
A red-haired teenager stands at the gates of Konoha soon after the destruction of Uzushio, in the middle of the Second Shinobi War.
Hiruzen thinks he should suspect this sudden appearance, but his heart sings a different story. To an inexplicable calling of his instincts, he has a feeling the boy couldn't be a better protector and loyal shinobi of Konoha they've ever seen.
In fact, he secretly thinks as he plots, the boy can be in the running against Minato.
It was something Uzumaki Sei would have paled and protested at had he known.
Sei cupped his hands under the faintly glowing orb. The red chakra which pulsed with its flickering light tickled his hands.
"I'll need to wait a while, Kurama," he whispered, "a long while, maybe."
