“Stuck in your own head again?” he asks.
Mark inhales a deep breath, rolls his shoulders back, but they still stay tense, worried. “I’m just…” he starts, then stops. Donghyuck waits for him to collect his words - he knows Mark’s mind is racing a million miles an hour, and his tongue never seems to catch up.
“My solo, you know. I’m nervous.” He takes another deep breath, and it sounds unstable, like a million things are cracking and popping in his lungs. It makes Donghyuck’s stomach drop - those breaths sound like the beginning traces of a panic attack.

Maybe if this hadn’t all happened to him in the span of forty eight hours, he’d be more receptive. Maybe, if Jake had broken up with him, and then he’d been given six months minimum to deal with that, he’d be ready to hear that Jay also had plans of abandoning him.

Summary
Before becoming Sunghoon’s roommate, Jay has never dated so many guys in his life. But this is only because Sunghoon won’t make a move and he’s so sexually frustrated: he checks him out and he sometimes responds to Jay’s flirting but he never does anything. Instead, he continues to pretend he’s straight, spending time with all the pretty girls on campus, and Jay’s sick of it.
Fed up, when he comes home following a drunken night of too little, too much without getting laid (damn you Jake), Jay decides to do something about whatever it is that’s going on between them. There’s always been something; he just has to convince Sunghoon to admit that he agrees. Encourage him to finally do something about it.
