Prosopagnosia is the inability to recognize faces but this is not that. It is not that his face has become something unknown to me. It has just, quite simply, changed, as is expected with the passing of time. Perhaps more angular. The roundness of his face has melted away with his baby fat. He is more freckled as well. His blonde hair hangs in front of his face, too long. We both have grown taller but my growth exceeds his. He stops walking when I do. Standing here like this, suspended in motion, something clicks into place. Kit, Livvy and I. Three points on a triangle. An inevitable stroke of fate.

Suddenly, Lumine leans closer, voice barely above a whisper. “Don’t let Qiqi wander too far away because she’s technically a zombie and might forget where she is and get lost, don’t mention any kind of sympathy for alcohol around Diona, and, for the love of your Tsaritsa, do not leave Klee unsupervised near anything remotely flammable.”
“Lumine,” he says, intends to reach for her or tell her he can’t or—something, but she turns to the girls, says, “You’re going to stay with Childe for a little bit. Don’t give him too much trouble.”
(He’s pretty sure she winks after that last bit, which is—concerning, to say the least.)
“Lumine,” he says, again, with approximately 10% more desperation, but she just whispers, “Payback, Fatui boy,” and presses a quick kiss to his cheek before leaving the way she came in.
Childe stands there, wide-eyed, staring out the window until he can’t spot her anymore, a single gloved hand pressed against his cheek.
Or: Lumine ropes Childe into babysitting. It goes... maybe better than you'd think.

The problem starts three days after Lumine waves goodbye to Teucer. It follows her for three weeks, dogging her steps and badgering her barely maintained sanity. It's a problem that won't go away, and it leads her here, to this moment: throwing open the doors to the private room that Childe has reserved for his little tea party. The hostess doesn’t even try to stop her. In fact, no one in the restaurant says anything — aside from Lumine, that is, who finds Childe seated almost directly across from her, crosses her arms, and says, with great feeling, "Hello, lover."

Words are scrawled on the side of the poster almost as an afterthought and Lumine does a double take as she realizes the hot model that is currently taking up the entire length of the paper is someone she knows.
