Yadriel glared up at him. “You are the worst. Terrible. A menace. I should have exorcised you when I had the chance,” he said flatly.
Julian smiled, leaning in until their noses touched. Yadriel felt the cold metal of Julian’s dangling tether against his collarbone. Julian’s fingers came to rest on Yadriel’s cheek, warm and grounding.
Whenever Julian touched him, Yadriel was grateful that he could. He thought about when Julian was a spirit and his touch was like ice, cold and devoid. He preferred Julian like this: running hot, fire in his veins, the sun in his eyes. Yadriel preferred Julian warming him from the inside out.

Summary
Julie opens up her blanket and makes grabby hands at him, nuzzling her face into her pillow for good measure. Reggie understands immediately and scrambles up, nearly tripping on his own feet which makes her stifle a laugh. He kicks off his shoes and shrugs off his jacket, and he’s snuggled in next to her in a matter of seconds. Julie rolls over onto her front, slinging an arm around his waist and using his chest as a pillow. His arms wrap around her as if it’s an instinct, holding her like she’s a teddy bear, like she’s the only thing that matters in the world. Thanks to his one-track mind, she thinks, maybe in this moment, to him, she is. She likes that thought.
“Nap time?” he says, voice softer than before.
She nods, enjoying the feeling of his t-shirt on her cheek. “Nap time,” she confirms.

And that's all fine and well, until his dad takes it a step too far one night, and Reggie panics, bailing out his bedroom window. Injured, and just looking for a place to crash, he heads to the studio. Of course, he's not alone. When are you ever alone when you wanna be? But maybe that's not... the worst thing in the world?
