Summary
In Regulus' eyes, to dream of a different life for oneself is little other than a display of naivety and weakness, so naturally, it's not something he's ever done before. When, out of desperation, he does, he's reminded of just why he'd never allowed himself to until then.
The hole in his chest had always felt the most alive when he was with Barty, as if something inside it was crawling around and clawing at the edges, desperate to escape. Sometimes, just being around him made Regulus feel like he was dying, but also as if he was more alive than he'd ever been before. Now, the thought alone of Barty winded him.

Summary
James could spend the rest of his life expressing his devotion to Vega, would if simply given the chance, even if he had no idea who James was in return, not a single clue towards his existence. It would be an honour. James Potter was straight. James Potter was… Straight adjacent. Something like that. Close enough.
James Potter was straight. It was a well-known fact, and nobody had ever once doubted it. Not even him, in private, for years, too scared to tell anyone. Absolutely not.
Of course, this made things even more awkward than they already were when he finally got to meet his best friend's recently un-estranged little brother, only to be faced with the amateur porn actor he'd been obsessed with for years.

He knew that his organs were rotting. They were blackened and distorted inside of him, no longer functioning. He was nothing but a walking corpse, a cadaver disguised with a bespoke suit to distract from the flies that hovered and the vultures that circled overhead.
(Or, Sirius tries to fix the one mistake he made by running away, but he's too late.)

“You’ll do exactly as I tell you,” Yoshida says, his black eyes ripping space around them, “won’t you, sweetheart?”
Denji likes good food, warm beds, and cute girls. Screwing around with boys to get those things has never tripped him up. Even if this one is . . . tall, and pretty, and being paid to make him forget his own name. Money is money, after all.
