Summary
Lucy Gray was clearly his girl, but somehow, he'd also ended up with Sejanus Plinth as his boy. It was a different situation, of course, but as he held Sejanus in his arms he could feel how true it was. Sejanus held noble ideals and honorable flights of fancy because he was loyal to a fault. A majority of that loyalty was directed directly towards him.
Sejanus was like a planet orbiting around Coriolanus's star and that feeling was one he was loathe to give up.
Ultimately, the way Coriolanus's possessive tendencies end up keeping him from betraying the people he loves most.
