Summary
Sirius Black fell through the Veil of Death, had his memories thrown though time, and woke up in a room both completely alien and painfully familiar. After two weeks asleep, he's back with memories of the future and a determination to not let what he knows will happen come to pass, changing one thing at a time.
But his life has never been simple. He has yet to reconcile with his friends after the Whomping Willow incident, his cousins and brother are protecting him with a ferocity he's never seen before, Snape is out for his blood, and he keeps getting hit with new memories out of the blue, leaving him exhausted and aching.
Failure isn't an option, and Sirius has never been one to back down from impossible odds. He'll change the future, and the courses of his friends' lives in the process, or die trying.

Candace told me I should write a letter, so here I am. I don't know what to write about, honestly.
Writing was never my thing. Not to say I never liked it, but it was always Charlie's hobby. Even Sam would write more than I did, honestly. I would be going to her with all this instead, but she's just been crying the past few days. I had to talk her out of coming back home, about leaving college before it even really started. I don't think I convinced her though. She wants to come home, says she's seeing him wherever she goes because he's the one who helped her get into Penn State in the first place. I'm not enough of an asshole, even drunk off my ass, to tell her that she'd probably see him here, too.

Dear Anonymous,
You don’t know me, but my name is Candace; you know my younger brother, Charlie. I didn’t know he was speaking with anyone, I don’t know your name or anything about you. It makes sense, though, that he’d want to talk to someone. I won’t lie to you, I feel a bit jealous he went to you instead of me, or Hell, even Chris. Charlie wouldn’t have wanted us to know he was getting bad again.
What I know is that he was with Sam, and they were fooling around, when he got upset. Sam told me she didn’t want him driving like that, so he spent the night and said his goodbyes in the morning. When he got home, he called me, and I could tell he’d been crying. He was talking about our Aunt Helen, talking about how he killed her, before abruptly hanging up. I was at a friend’s house, and my parents were out with Chris, so I called the cops.
An hour later we were called to the hospital.
I’m sure, by now, you might have pieced together what happened, but if you haven’t, I’ll just tell you. You won’t be getting any more letters from Charlie.
