…But why should he? They're both certainly comfortable. The room is dim and peaceful, and the bed is, admittedly, softer than his floor mattress. March gets grumpy when she doesn't get enough sleep, and Caelus' sleep schedule is so bizarre he can't bring himself to interrupt the rest they do get. -

It arrived at the dead of night. It was a simple text, one that he could decipher without Silver Wolf’s help, for it contained no images, no misspellings. It was simple, straight and to the point, composed of nothing but four words: tomorrow, come hunt me.
Perhaps, after whatever happened to him in those two months of silence, he had found the courage to stop running – to face Blade, even when things did not go well. To roll the carpet and look underneath. Perhaps he simply did not know what he was asking for.
Whatever the reason behind such a text might have been, Blade did not know, nor did he care; all that mattered was the invitation and the fact he couldn’t refuse it. Wouldn’t refuse it.

The response is so quick–as if it were as natural as breathing to the Vidyadhara–that Yingxing feels like he’s just been hit by a speeding starskiff.
“You’re… what?” Yingxing’s voice cracks.
“You swore an oath to me: If I still harbor love for you when I’m sober, an intimate relationship between us could be discussed.” Dan Feng’s tail snaps in agitation, and the look on his face makes it apparent that he thinks this is the stupidest question Yingxing has ever asked him in his life. Which is saying something because he thinks a lot of Yingxing’s questions are stupid.
Yingxing isn’t sure what’s going to kill him first: old age, his worsening migraine, or Dan Feng’s absolutely ludicrous audacity.
