You can already tell this is a huge understatement. You don’t get this nervous over someone you happen to recognize from some porn flicks. You get this nervous over Your Favorite. The one you empty your sad little nylon pockets over in the viridian neon of the back booth in the sex shop at the end of the night. “And…?”

Words have never served them in moments like these. Harry has too many and Kim has too few. Harry never seems to run out; Kim can never find the right ones. They have talked and talked and talked, circling each other and their desk lamp for months, their orbits steadily decaying. They know what this is about. They have both known for a long while now. And there is something unearthly about the silence tonight. That Harry has not chosen to break it. That he only looks.
