Summary
Buck doesn’t take his hands off Eddie’s shoulders as he glances over to Athena and Nash, who are watching the display calibrate. “How’d we do?”
“See for yourself,” Athena says.
Bad, Eddie thinks.
But he can’t read her – doesn’t know what it’s going to say. For all he knows, he’s going to look up and the words Eddie Diaz Should Be Dead will be flashing across the screen. He half-expects it.
He wants to brace Buck for it, for the disappointment – wants to explain that whatever has screwed his compatibility scores till now, this one is all on Eddie.
“Oh, shit…” Buck whispers.
Eddie lifts his head, finally lets himself look, and then takes an inhale so sharp he tastes blood.
Oh, shit.

Summary
Buck doesn’t know what he’s going to say next. All he hears is the awful sound of splintering wood, a beam emancipating itself from above them. Without another thought, Buck lunges forward and pushes Eddie out of its path.
When Buck falls through the unstable give of the floor, he feels a bone chilling terror. But it’s okay, because Eddie was knocked away. The beam missed him.
Then, a terrible noise like thunder, a mammoth of sound, and Eddie is falling too. Why is Eddie falling too?
Buck takes a great big tumble. Like always, Eddie is right behind him.

Summary
Buck takes it to the grave.
He doesn’t mean to. It’s just—with all that time he spent teasing death, all the motorcycles and factory fires and blood-coated grenades—death gets impatient, in the end. Right as he’s starting to take life seriously. After he puts his name on the lease, buys life a ring, like, I’m in this for the long haul. Death gets jealous, and Buck falls through a second-story floor onto a derelict wrought-iron stair rail, and his femoral artery begins the quick but methodical work of leaking out the next fifty or sixty years of his life onto the charred tile floor.Bookmarked by okanus

Summary
In the comedown, Eddie lets himself drift. He waits for it—the shame, the guilt, the panic over thinking about his best friend while he got himself off.
It comes, but not for the reasons he expects. Eddie melts into his mattress in the aftermath of his orgasm, and doesn’t stop thinking about it. He’s gay. He finds Buck hot. Buck is his best friend, his co-parent, his partner in just about everything. Buck likes men too. It’s a possibility, a real one. Eddie can see a future with Buck, and that’s when the panic hits him.
Eddie wasn’t a good husband. What he has with Buck right now isn’t worth losing. Eddie is in love with his best friend, but he thought that about Shannon too—and look where that ended up.

“Now that is a handsome man.”
The first thing Hen notices about New Recruit Eddie Diaz is that he is in possession of a remarkable set of abdominal muscles. The next thing she notices is the wedding ring.
And Buck is staring at him like a piece of meat.
“Oh, nuh-uh,” she says immediately. “Don’t even think about it, Buckley.”
or, Eddie is new, and married, and Buck won’t stop flirting. 5+1.

Summary
The guy gets straight to the point, asking, "What do you need?" in a dull, bored voice.
"My best friend is going to die. I want that to… not happen."
"No small feat, bringing back the dead. And it comes at a cost."
It's Eddie. Buck says, "Yes," without a second thought.

Summary
At this point, he’s not sure what will finally make it click for Buck that Eddie’s not worth all the trouble. Selfishly, he hopes Buck never stops wandering his halls—covets the warm hand pressing against his weakest parts, finding Eddie strong enough to hold the weight.
These days it feels like he can’t help but lead Buck straight to the worst of him, curious to see what will happen. There’s a sick satisfaction in opening the front door and letting his walls bleed for Buck, just for an opportunity to watch him ignore the exit in favor of licking where the blood gushes hardest.
-
Or the one where Eddie hits rock bottom, refuses to admit his feelings for Buck, and ends up punching Tommy somewhere along the way. Buck's worried, but, hey—maybe he can make it work for them.

Summary
The memories aren’t fully fleshed out, only flashes of places, people, and feelings. Sometimes they’re tangible, so much so he feels like he can reach it within his fingertips and hold them there.
He’d be washing dishes, and he’d feel the phantom arms of Eddie around his waist, the junction of his neck and shoulder feeling warm. For a flash, he’d see a different kitchen than the one he was in. He’d be looking at a menu in a restaurant, and he thinks he’d hear Eddie’s voice asking, ‘You gonna order the usual?’ When he glances down at the table, he’d be surprised he’s not seeing a deep green tablecloth. He’d doze off on the couch and feel his cheek land on Eddie’s chest, arms wrapping around him, and he’d open his eyes to find himself alone.
How do you explain that away? Missing something you can’t fully remember having?

Or, Evan Buckley wakes up without eight years of his memories with some guy named Eddie Diaz on his bedside. Which could mean nothing.
